The biggest weapon against the chains of bondage is self-awareness and daily progress. God wants us to be free indeed! Applying what we know to ourselves first and then sharing with others. You can’t assist someone else with their chains unless your hands are free first. I have been on a journey of self-awareness for a while now. God has freed me of plenty but there are things that he continues to bring to the forefront in the mirror so that I can work on them and become the best version of myself. We are and will always be a work in progress until we take our last breath, thankfully we are not alone. If you claim to have it all together, we’ll you’re lying to yourself and doing yourself a disservice.
In my blog I want to be completely transparent, and I want to share my past and current struggles so that I may relate to yours. I also want to create a safe space where my readers can send me topics they want me to touch on or give my perspective on anonymously. I just want to help others by sharing testimony. I am not a therapist and do not have any medical background, I simply am a vessel God wants to use to help others. I am a normal human being trying to make the best of this thing called life.
I don’t claim to have it all together, but in my life, I have accepted God as the one who does have it all together to help me. By my faith in Him and His grace and mercy I can walk unshackled every day so that I may help others find their freedom.
I have dealt with Heartbreak, Rejection, Insecurities, Unforgiveness, Doubt, un-acceptance of self-love and the love of others, instability in my mind and emotions. I have loved and I have hated the person in the mirror. I have been hurt and I have hurt people because as the saying goes “Hurt People, Hurt People.”
But the best thing I did was not accept those versions of myself, instead I surrendered them all to God and piece by piece He has walked with me while working on them and through them. Today I love Me first in order that I can love everybody else and accept that I’m perfectly flawed but I too can be loved. Don’t allow your surroundings and atmosphere to shape who you are, you have the power to create the atmosphere and be in control.
Galatians 5:1
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery”
